5:30-6:30pm: Tour & Dinner
6:30pm-7:30pm: Panel Discussion
Safe Passage Child Advocacy Center
2335 Robinson Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80904
Pediatricians are often among the first professionals to identify concerns related to abuse, neglect, or trauma.
This event offers an opportunity to better understand the role of Safe Passage, the Child Advocacy Center serving Colorado's 4th Judicial District, and how our multidisciplinary team work together to support children and families throughout the investigation, treatment, and healing process.
The evening will begin with a tour of Safe Passage and an overview of the services available to children and families in our community. Dinner will be provided and then attendees will hear from a panel of partner agencies, including Colorado Spring's Crime's Against Children's Unit, the Department of Human Services, the UCHealth Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program Director, and the Clinical Director of Safe Passage. Panelists will discuss their roles, referral pathways, common challenges, and opportunities for collaboration with healthcare providers.
This discussion is designed to help physicians better understand local resources, strengthen cross-sector partnerships, and support children and families who may be affected by abuse or trauma in our community.
